4th Annual “Heroes of our Schools”
Lawrence County Schools are accepting nominations in order to recognize persons who have attended county high schools and have achieved success in life that has been recognized locally, statewide, or nationally.
Who are the heroes of Lawrence County Schools?
The community’s help is needed in answering this question. Heroes of LCSS are people who have amazed and inspired many by his or her accomplishments extending beyond the ordinary.
A committee will evaluate all nominations and select a hero from each high school along with recognizing an outstanding former educator.
Loretto High School, Summertown High School, and Lawrence County High School have dedicated a special display where heroes are added each year.
Previous heroes that have been honored include David Weathers, John Paul White, and Harley Simbeck Sr. of Loretto High School, Fred Thompson, Dr. Paul Thomas, and Margie Mann of Lawrence County High School, and Sergeant Kyle Konig, Ryan Durham, and Scott Franks of Summertown High School.
A county wide banquet will be held at the end of the school year to induct the new heroes into each high school’s Wall of Fame.
